The Capuchin Heritage Circle recognizes and honors those who have chosen to remember the Capuchin friars through a planned gift. Members of the Heritage Circle share a common desire to support the friars not only in the present, but well into the future.

Membership is not about recognition. It is an expression of gratitude for a life of faithfulness and a shared commitment to the mission and vocation of the Capuchin friars.

A Community Rooted in Gratitude and Prayer

Those who include the Capuchins in their estate plans are remembered with gratitude and prayer by the friars. Your generosity – whether known during your lifetime or discovered in the future – helps ensure that the Province can continue to care for its friars and foster new vocations for generations to come.

Members of the Capuchin Heritage Circle are united not by the size of a gift, but by the spirit in which it is given.

Remembered in Prayer Each Year

Each year on Thanksgiving Day, Fr. John Pfannenstiel, OFM Cap., celebrates a Mass for the intentions of the members of the Capuchin Heritage Circle.

In advance of that Mass, members are invited to share their personal prayer intentions, which Fr. John brings with him to the altar. It is a quiet and prayerful way for the friars to express their gratitude and to remember those who have chosen to remember them.

Members receive a letter each October inviting them to participate, and all intentions are held with care and confidentiality.

Who Is Included in the Capuchin Heritage Circle?

You are welcomed into the Capuchin Heritage Circle if you have made provisions for the Capuchin friars through any of the following:

  • A bequest in your will or trust

  • A beneficiary designation on a retirement account, life insurance policy, or other asset

  • A charitable gift annuity

  • Another planned gift arrangement

There is no minimum gift required, and all planned gifts – regardless of size – are deeply appreciated.

Already Included in Your Plans

If you have already made a provision for the Capuchin friars that qualifies you for membership in the Capuchin Heritage Circle, we would be grateful to know – if you are comfortable sharing that information.

If You Would Like to Share Your Plans

You are welcome to contact the Planned Giving Office at any time to share your intentions or ask a question. Conversations are confidential and without obligation.

Why Share Your Intentions?

While there is no obligation to notify the Capuchins of a planned gift, many donors choose to do so. Sharing your intentions allows us to:

  • Express our personal gratitude

  • Ensure your wishes are understood

  • Welcome you formally into the Capuchin Heritage Circle

  • Remember you and your loved ones in prayer

All information is kept confidential and shared only at your discretion.

A Quiet Expression of Faith

For many, remembering the Capuchin friars in their plans is a quiet and deeply personal expression of faith. It reflects a lifetime shaped by prayer, service, and Gospel witness.

The Capuchin Heritage Circle exists to honor that faithfulness and to assure you of the friars’ continued prayers and gratitude.
